Adrian Eriksson announces his debut album, Elégie: Rachmaninov on Double Bass. Together with pianist Henrik Kilhamn, guested by violinist Danial Shariati, Adrian Eriksson presents a collection of transcriptions featuring exclusively Rachmaninov's compositions, honouring his 150th birth anniversary.
Sergei Rachmaninov (1873–1943) was the last great Romantic composer, describing the Romantic music to be timeless as it "reflect the warmth and depth of compassion in human nature." With the deep and resonant tones of the double bass, Adrian Eriksson is breathing new life into Rachmaninov's timeless melodies. The theme "Elégie" serves as an emotional thread of melancholy, remembrance and longing.
